Earth and Environment students and staff: Professor Greenville Draper, an expert in Tectonic Evolution, Post Doc Research Pushpa Soti and graduate student Hari Kandel attended meeting with FIU President Mark Rosenberg.
President Obama decided to celebrate Earth Day, April 22, right in FIU’s backyard. With Florida’s Everglades National Park as a back drop, he took to the podium to remind the crowd of the importance of preservation and the threat of climate change.
Workshop participants will explore the integration of tropical and subtropical fruits and edible plants into farming which sustains local food systems, as well as how to promote domestic and international trade.
Tom Potts will discuss the incredible twenty-two year journey of living and working underwater aboard Aquarius and FIU’s vision of the future of this remarkable resource.
